Miscellaneous Stuff

Well, my WoW account and all my characters have been restored and I've even been given some compensation... Thanks Blizzard and your wonderful bunch of game masters!

Now I've just got to be more security concious. Embarrassed Never use public machines for playing games.

On the Entropia Universe front, I won't be able to play it at all this month or next month Sad Too many bills in too short a space of time.

My gold card will have to wait Sad

On the Neocron front, It is now free to play for all existing non-banned accounts Open-mouthed I've just got to recover the will to want to play it again though, as most of my friends have stopped playing it.

All my hard work... Gone?

All my hard work... Gone?
That was what I was thinking when I logged into World of Warcraft this morning and found that all my characters were missing in action. I quickly contacted a GM about the issue via email who notified me that I should instead submit an ingame petition, which I have done. Open-mouthed

A GM got back to me within the hour, and has told me that I should be getting my characters and their items back soon. Open-mouthed

W00t! Wrath of the Lich King Beta, here I come!

Just found this email in my Inbox:

Wrath of the Lich King™ Beta Test

You have been selected to participate in the beta test of World of Warcraft®: Wrath of the Lich King™. Welcome!

In the beta test you’ll get an opportunity to test the first zones of the new Northrend continent, and the new levels above 70. We look forward to your feedback on the overall experience, including quests, monsters, zones, aesthetics, and more. We would also appreciate reports on any bugs you may encounter. These can be logged using the /bug command explained below.

Getting started:

In order to participate in the beta test, you must upgrade an existing retail account that has been upgraded with The Burning Crusade®, allowing you to connect to the Wrath of the Lich King test realms. The World of Warcraft®: The Burning Crusade® game client that you use must be patched up to version 2.4.2 or later in order to install the beta test client.

Go to http://beta.worldofwarcraft.com and follow the detailed, step-by-step instructions to begin playing the Wrath of the Lich King beta.

Please be prepared to enter the current retail World of Warcraft account name and password you use, and the appropriate beta code listed below to authenticate your eligibility to connect to the Wrath of the Lich King test realms. To participate in the beta tests, you must have a valid retail World of Warcraft account active and in good standing as of July 15, 2008.

Below is a beta code that will allow you to upgrade a World of Warcraft account to be eligible for the Wrath of the Lich King beta test. Each beta code can be used only once to upgrade an active retail World of Warcraft account.

XXXXXX-XXXX-XXXXXX-XXXX-XXXXXX

Please retain this email for your records.  If you experience any issues setting up the beta account or accessing the test realms, please email Billing Support at wowbetabilling@blizzard.com.

Sending us feedback:

Typing /bug in chat will open an error reporting interface, and we encourage you to use it any time you encounter a problem or want to send us a suggestion.

Troubleshooting:

If you experience any difficulties installing the beta game client, or have problems connecting to the test realms, please contact Technical Support either by posting on the appropriate forum at http://beta.worldofwarcraft.com/forums or by email at wowbetatech@blizzard.com. Please remember that this software is still undergoing development, so any in-game issues should be reported using the /bug feature.

I shall begin testing right away Open-mouthed since I've already installed the Beta client.

GO3 - The Final Day

Well GO3 has drawn to a close for the second year and what a great time I had! Meeting all the Entropia Ambassadors and other Entropia Players from around Australia, namely: Deathifier, Mulga, Shaz, Bagman, Missa, Ozi, Xaph, TimUnleashed, Vantastic and more, as well as meeting them, it was also good getting outta my comfort zone. Open-mouthed

Blew a bit of money on drones and argonauts while showing my fellow aussies the game, Had quite a few interested people walk away with a client dvd, hopefully we'll see them ingame at some point Smile

Big thanks to Southern Fortress Engineering for providing supplies for the stand at the Expo, attracting customers and for the wonderful T-shirts that we were provided with towards the end Open-mouthed Coincidently, If you're ever in need of some crafted hunting armour, look them up, you won't regret it Smile

Big thanks to all who turned up and an especially big thanks to MindArk for choosing the GO3 convention in Perth, rather than one of the game conventions in Sydney or Melbourne I suggested earlier Wink

Anyhoo, didn't take too many pictures, though I did make a start on a new dance video, with a to be announced title.

GO3 - The second day

The second day, unlike the first day was mostly full of the general public and media. The computers started working correctly again, which meant we could do some more showing off of the game to the public.

Andy Wells from Bigpond GameArena came by and got shots of the stand and the game, as well as doing an interview with Deathifier.

Handing out flyers (there was never enough) and Entropia Universe client DVDs, which seemed to be endless Open-mouthed

There was enough food at the stand to feed a small army, thanks to the guys from Southern Fortress Engineering, to keep the Ambassadors going and going for hours...

Mcafee on my laptop died, so I had to replace it with AVG and ZoneAlarm, which I use on my desktop PC, I made sure to disconnect so that I wouldn't get hacked or anything of the sort.

I think I'm getting to like the game again, and I may just start playing some more. I made a fair bit of profit during the expo, not much, but still nice. Open-mouthed

GO3 - The first true day

Ahh, on the setup day we of course set up the Entropia Universe stand, though due to unforseen circumstances the desktop computers didn't arrive till today, the official first day of the expo, which meant we had to use our laptops, which may or may not have been up to the task.

The desktop computers did finally arrive... BUT! They had the wrong graphics cards, They had to be taken back and exchanged, which they were
, only 1.5gb of RAM short...

2 of the desktops have ongoing problems with power distribution
, but by the third day this seemed to have resolved itself...

We've also had a few network connection problems as well, but they were fixed quite rapidly by the local IT guy.
