8/15/2008 Miscellaneous StuffWell, my WoW account and all my characters have been restored and I've even been given some compensation... Thanks Blizzard and your wonderful bunch of game masters!
Now I've just got to be more security concious.
On the Entropia Universe front, I won't be able to play it at all this month or next month
My gold card will have to wait
On the Neocron front, It is now free to play for all existing non-banned accounts
- Nuchaleft 8/10/2008 All my hard work... Gone? All my hard work... Gone? That was what I was thinking when I logged into World of Warcraft this morning and found that all my characters were missing in action. I quickly contacted a GM about the issue via email who notified me that I should instead submit an ingame petition, which I have done. A GM got back to me within the hour, and has told me that I should be getting my characters and their items back soon. - Nuchaleft 8/8/2008 W00t! Wrath of the Lich King Beta, here I come!Just found this email in my Inbox: Wrath of the Lich King™ Beta TestYou have been selected to participate in the beta test of World of Warcraft®: Wrath of the Lich King™. Welcome! In the beta test you’ll get an opportunity to test the first zones of the new Northrend continent, and the new levels above 70. - Nuchaleft 8/3/2008 GO3 - The Final DayWell GO3 has drawn to a close for the second year and what a great time I had! Meeting all the Entropia Ambassadors and other Entropia Players from around Australia, namely: Deathifier, Mulga, Shaz, Bagman, Missa, Ozi, Xaph, TimUnleashed, Vantastic and more, as well as meeting them, it was also good getting outta my comfort zone. Blew a bit of money on drones and argonauts while showing my fellow aussies the game, Had quite a few interested people walk away with a client dvd, hopefully we'll see them ingame at some point Big thanks to Southern Fortress Engineering for providing supplies for the stand at the Expo, attracting customers and for the wonderful T-shirts that we were provided with towards the end Big thanks to all who turned up and an especially big thanks to MindArk for choosing the GO3 convention in Perth, rather than one of the game conventions in Sydney or Melbourne I suggested earlier Anyhoo, didn't take too many pictures, though I did make a start on a new dance video, with a to be announced title. - Nuchaleft 8/2/2008 GO3 - The second dayThe second day, unlike the first day was mostly full of the general public and media. The computers started working correctly again, which meant we could do some more showing off of the game to the public.
Andy Wells from Bigpond GameArena came by and got shots of the stand and the game, as well as doing an interview with Deathifier.
Handing out flyers (there was never enough) and Entropia Universe client DVDs, which seemed to be endless
There was enough food at the stand to feed a small army, thanks to the guys from Southern Fortress Engineering, to keep the Ambassadors going and going for hours...
Mcafee on my laptop died, so I had to replace it with AVG and ZoneAlarm, which I use on my desktop PC, I made sure to disconnect so that I wouldn't get hacked or anything of the sort.
I think I'm getting to like the game again, and I may just start playing some more. I made a fair bit of profit during the expo, not much, but still nice.
- Nightwolf 8/1/2008 GO3 - The first true day Ahh, on the setup day we of course set up the Entropia Universe stand, though due to unforseen circumstances the desktop computers didn't arrive till today, the official first day of the expo, which meant we had to use our laptops, which may or may not have been up to the task. The desktop computers did finally arrive... BUT! They had the wrong graphics cards, They had to be taken back and exchanged, which they were, only 1.5gb of RAM short... 2 of the desktops have ongoing problems with power distribution, but by the third day this seemed to have resolved itself... We've also had a few network connection problems as well, but they were fixed quite rapidly by the local IT guy. - Nightwolf 7/31/2008 GO3 Newsletter #4HOT OFF THE PRESS WHAT'S ON SHOW GO3 2008 will have the following Exhibitors showcasing lots of great

As the previous year, it is being hosted at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. Taken from the official site: The GO3 Electronic & Entertainment Expo brings to Perth the latest in technology, communication, electronic games, in-car technology, communication, education & training, home audio & lots more. And yes, As an Entropia Universe Ambassador, I too, will be there at the Entropia Universe stand, along with the other 5 Ambassadors; Ozi, Missa, xaph, Bagman and Deathifier. I look forward to meeting them as well as anyone else who turns up. I also plan on making some videos and taking photos during the event and uploading them to my blog so all can view them. Oh, If you don't know what Entropia Universe is, read below What is Entropia Universe? (Taken from a previous blog entry) In short, Entropia Universe is a massive virtual universe with a real cash economy, provided by swedish developer MindArk. Think of it as Second Life and World of Warcraft
combined, with elements from other games thrown in for effect. Being a
real cash economy, you need to purchase game credits, or PED (Project
Entropia Dollars) with real cash, but there are opportunities to make
money in other ways, such as via Trade. The assets you acquire can then
be exchanged back into real world funds. Does that sound interesting? Give it a go! - Nuchaleft 7/24/2008 Latest Youtube video My latest youtube video, for your enjoyment :-) I don't normally like to do dance videos in games, but here is my first effort. There is a mistake though, you can see a cursor, which is fixed in the next dance video I am making. - Nuchaleft Got the sack :-( Dear Diary, I seem to have been made redundant, which sucks by all accounts. - Nuchaleft 7/15/2008 GO3: Latest from meHOT OFF THE PRESS We have some hot news about GO3 Electronic & Entertainment Expo 2008. My new laptop just arrived from Sydney to my house. I've been configuring it for my use.
It has a widescreen monitor, not that I care much
It cost me only $1100, as opposed to $2999, which is pretty good, if I do say so myself
- Nuchaleft 6/30/2008 Diablo® III Unveiled!Twenty years have passed since the cataclysmic events of Diablo®II.
Mephisto, Diablo, and Baal have been defeated, but the Worldstone,
which once shielded the world of Sanctuary from the forces of both the
High Heavens and the Burning Hells, has been destroyed, and evil once
again stirs in Tristram.... Following the unveiling of Diablo III today at the Blizzard Entertainment Worldwide Invitational, we've launched the game's official website, with information about the places, characters, monsters, and adventures awaiting you upon your return to the world of Sanctuary. Some of the site's highlights include:
- Nuchaleft 6/24/2008 Video Cards: Of Pixels and Shaders Obscura Well the good news is that I was able to pick up my Asus ES9600GT from the post office about a couple of days ago. I have just installed it, but have yet to try out any games with this new card in yet. When I do I'll update this blog post with the information. The damn card is larger than my old Radeon X1600, I actually had to move my 2nd hard drive down a bay and my sound card down a PCI slot so I could fit the card in properly. I really need to think about some more cable ties and some SATA hard drives Keep Smiling - Nuchaleft |
