Lately, I am finding it so hard to fight the good fight, folks.
Barely able to concentrate on my studies, as gender dysphoria has apparently decided to hit me like a tonne of bricks.
I’m just going to keep trying to take it one day at a time, and focus on self care.
God, I haven’t posted anything on this blog since the start of last year. Might start to reuse this blog.
Here’s another rant/thought post, from that dingo guy.
Anyway, so lately, community wise, I have felt kind of isolated? Is that the word? Like I’m stepping back into the community for the first time. Like I’m (still) trying to find where I belong.
I’ve noticed this more and more as friends with a similar community tenure as me, drop off the radar, or pursue other interests. Don’t get me wrong though, I’ve met some amazing people in the community recently, some of which I am honoured to call my friends.
I guess this feeling is what led to my recent post on the slow fracturing of the community, here on my blog.
In other news, I’ve been considering upgrading my ailing Drift Ghost HD action video camera, with the Drift Ghost S.
Has a better low light sensor, can film 1080p at a higher frame rate, better battery life, etc. The stats say it’s not too much of an improvement over the HD, but I would like to have a new one before my next trip. Time to start saving the pennies (and/or wait for the tax man)

I’ve been thinking about this for a while, and in the 5+ years that I’ve been in this community, I’ve definitely been guilty of this myself, but I think far too many people in the local, and in some cases, extended, furry community these days hold grudges, sleep around, cause drama, trouble, etc, the very things that drive communities apart and leave it shattered.
I remember going to meets, where we would all talk in large groups, now there’s smaller groups, like the “old group “, “the intermediate group”, “the anathema group” and now there’s the “new group”. I understand that this can be considered an evolution, but to some it can feel like high school.
The Furry Fandom is supposed to be inclusive. Lets keep it that way.
What can we do about this?
Start by asking yourself before a meet “Is someone I don’t like going to be at one of the many furry themed events?”, and no matter the answer, Just go anyway. Don’t let someone else prevent you from having fun with friends or random strangers. You can’t spend your life obsessing about what things others are doing, or have done.
Also, If you see someone who looks lonely and who no one else seems to be talking to, engage them in conversation, you might be surprised. I have seen a few examples where certain furries have been pretty much been ignored by other furries at a meet. Some furries might be too shy to approach you directly, so sometimes you need to take the initiative.
That’s my 2 cents.

Glad to hear that taking selfies can now be considered a sign of a latent, or otherwise mental disorder (Narcissism, et al?) I’ve pretty much known that for years. 😛
I hope everyone had fun at Anthrocon 2015, and got (or gets, if not home yet) home safely. #anthrocon #anthrocon2015
I hope that I’m able to join you at a future one some day 🙂
